Mendes was born in Virginia to Brazilian parents and even lived in Brazil for a year when she was younger. Mendes graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2016, a year after her co-star, Cole Sprouse, graduated from the university’sGallatin School alongside his twin brother, Dylan.
